Welcome to NIS Nursery Playgroup

Hello, my name is Sue Mee. I am from Burma. I have been teaching children for over ten years. I’ve got degree in Education from UK and worked there until May 2010.  I’ve understood foundation stage of education is vital to children’s early development and learning. Therefore my passion is teaching children at various stages of their development and I want my experience to contribute to the achievement of the early learning goals.

Our aim
Our playgroup has been providing a happy and secure environment for a child’s first steps into education for many years.

What we aim to do is to cultivate a child’s natural desire for discovery and learning and to encourage them to be confident, independent and inquisitive in their work and games. ‘’Children who are enjoying learning will always succeed’’.

Our curriculum
Our curriculum is based on a combination of the Early Years Standard Curriculum, incorporating the best elements of other methodologies, and the latest thinking from leading child care development research around the world. It is designed to help your child gain self confidence through being respected, and learning to respect his/her environment and peers.

Learning Environment
At our Playgroup the small sizes and high ratio allow the children in our care to receive the best professional and personal attention at all times. Each child is allocated a ‘key worker’. This system enables parents to have a point of reference for their child and for the staff to be aware of the individual needs of children in their group.

Observation and Record keeping
Each child has a unique learning journey folder that contains observations, assessments, photographs, and creative work that celebrates each child’s progress and achievements towards the required Early Learning Goals.

The learning journey begins with Starting Points and your child’s learning, achievements and interests. From these Starting Points we then plan play and learning activities based on what your child can do and importantly what they are interested in.
